Cormorants

This full sleeve design is composed around cormorants above and beneath the water.

The upper part shows a cormorant standing quietly under the moonlight, while the lower part follows another cormorant diving beneath the surface toward freshwater fish.

I wanted to capture stillness and movement, balance and survival, within one continuous scene.

The black body of the cormorant, layered feathers, reeds, moon, soft water lines, and fish moving through the current were arranged to flow naturally along the arm.

Although designed as a full sleeve piece, this composition can also be adapted into a larger back piece.

달 아래 물가에 선 가마우지와, 물속으로 잠수하는 가마우지를 함께 구성한 긴팔 도안입니다.

대한민국 민물 생태계의 정점에 있는 가마우지와 쏘가리를 중심으로, 물 위의 정적인 장면과 물속으로 이어지는 움직임을 한 흐름 안에 담고 싶었습니다.

가마우지의 검은 몸, 반복되는 깃털, 갈대와 달, 얕게 번지는 수면의 흐름이 팔을 따라 하나의 장면처럼 이어지도록 정리했습니다.

한 존재 안에 공존하는 정적과 움직임, 균형과 생존의 순간을 담은 작업입니다.

긴팔 도안으로 구성했지만, 등판처럼 더 넓은 부위에 맞춘 구성으로도 확장할 수 있습니다.
